I have always loved when light rays shine forth from behind the. It takes my breath away as it is like the sky is transformed from simple clouds and sun to a magnificent display of brilliance. This type of light shining through also reminds me of Jesus’ love radiating constantly upon us. When I stop to appreciate it, I become more aware of His presence with me.
Though this photo is stunning, it is nothing in comparison to the glorious sight of Jesus in the Transfiguration! What a gift to the dear friends of Jesus – Peter, James and his brother John! They saw the divine glory of Jesus before His Resurrection. They were personally invited by Jesus to encounter this moment in time with Him.
Has Jesus invited you recently to a high mountain to see His glory?
Would you have answered His call and went with Him without question?
They willingly went with Jesus not knowing the gifts He had waiting for them. Their openness and faith allowed them to see Jesus as He truly was. Such beauty can no easier be put into words than trying to describe to someone else the colors of a stunning sunset.
Can you imagine what it would have been like to see Jesus this way?
This event was beyond something physical for their eyes to behold. Their hearts felt a movement that gave them such peace and awe that they wanted to remain right there. They were no doubt changed from that day forward having experienced the presence of Jesus in such an extraordinary way.
How have you felt in a moment like this when you experienced Jesus in such a profoundly personal way?

Jesus invites us to experience transfiguration in our own lives; to have had moments when, even for a split second, we seem to glimpse a reality beyond this one. Jesus invites you to know Him and to see Him as your Lord, your Savior, and your Friend. He wants us to be close to Him and to feel a connection with Him.
If you are still at a loss as to how to seek transfiguration in your life that will lead you towards more perfect love and away from whatever pulls at your heart, then look no further. God the Father gives you the answer.
“This is my beloved Son. Listen to him.” (Mark 9:7)
Your experiences of Jesus will not be as extraordinary every day since true faith requires believing without always seeing or understanding. Jesus is here with you now and He invites you to one of the most profound moments of transfiguration – the Mass. He waits quietly there filled with love for you!
The Eucharist we gather for every week is a preeminent experience of transfiguration. We gather around this simple table and present mere bread and wine. And just as amazing as on that mountain, it is transformed in our midst; transfigured into the living presence of God. We begin with elements that are common, ordinary, mundane. We end up with something heavenly, extraordinary and miraculous. It is as if the voice of God says to us, “This bread and this wine are my beloved Son. Welcome Him. Let Him become a part of you. Listen to Him.” (Transfigure Us, O Lord!)
Come to Holy Mass and receive Jesus in His glory and love. He personally invites you to come and be with Him at the Eucharistic Table. There He gives you food for your journey to Heaven – His very Body and Blood poured out for each of us. He will reveal to you His glory and the love of God for you!
If your soul longs to listen to Jesus, how can you not be transfigured by Him!
